Meet our sweet and sensitive little Ernie boy. Ernie is a senior with medium energy. He enjoys his walks and the comfort of his soft blankets and beds. He's very good with dogs, and likely cats. He goes to the dog park with his foster mommy and is living with three other dogs and a turtle. Ernie gently goes up to people to say hello and to get pets and affection. He appreciates gentle hands that show they are careful. We don't quite know what's happened in this poor boy's past, but we can only make some guesses. He probably was someone's dog at one time. He doesn't bark at people, but we think he might have been picked up roughly, maybe by children who didn't take care to be gentle with a little guy like he is. He is not of fan of swift pick ups because it scares him, but our experienced foster mom has worked with him to learn what he likes and to help him know that being picked up is ok. Once she's got him up, she puts on his harnass daily and off they trot on his daily walks, which he simply enjoys. He doesn't bark at dogs and is very calm and respectul meeting them. Ernie still has a lot of love and good energy to give a person and would be perfect for a mellow home wanting a mellow dog, or for a senior owner. Ernie sleeps nicely on his dog bed, which he immediatley took to once he entered his foter mom's house. He's happy just to have company, and he's quiet, so he'd be great in an apartment or senior living situation. If you are a person who wants to give a home to a little guy who hasn't had much thus far, then our little Ernie may just be your cup of tea. Please fill out an application, and let's get you out to meet Ernie.
